December 30th at a Youth Ice Hockey Tournament in Kamloops, B.C. Canada. It was the opening ceremonies and the National Anthems of all participating countries were about to be played. A young girl sang the Canadian Anthem, then the USA and Hungarian anthems were to be played on the Public Address/Stereo system. The system failed. The anxious Kamloops crowd then sang the American anthem. For the Hungarian anthem, 15 year old Laszlo Horvath, a young player on team Hungary (Hungary was to play in the feature game right after the ceremonies) skated to centre ice and belted out the Hungarian anthem (with zero preparation) on the one microphone that was working, turning an embarrassing moment into a very special one.
