Russia's Investigative Committee has raised the death toll in Friday's terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow, claimed by the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, to 133, according to its latest assessment published on Saturday. It also expects the number of fatalities to "increase" due to the large number of people hospitalised.

In this context, the investigative agency determined that most of the deaths were due to gunshot wounds inflicted by the perpetrators of the attack and asphyxiation caused by the fire in the hall. The attackers, the investigators said, used "automatic weapons" and set fire to the building with a "flammable liquid".
