Moscow terror attack rescue teams clear debris
Rescue teams have been clearing debris from the site of a terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM), seen in the video on March 24, has cleared more than 90 cubic meters of debris following the attack that killed at least 133 concert-goers on March 22.
Officials at the Kremlin claim that Ukraine was behind the attack. The so-called Islamic State has also claimed responsibility for the atrocity.
They said that efforts to clear debris have been ongoing, with heavy machinery operating throughout the night on the southern side of the building.
This has involved demolishing the facade and creating a technological opening to facilitate the delivery of a 100-tonne crane. With this crane, rescuers removed large fragments of the collapsed roof.
Specialists from the Centrospas unit and the Russian Emergencies Ministry have played a crucial role in the operation, dismantling and removing more than 250 cubic meters of structures.
Specialised robotic systems, canine units, and psychologists are also working on-site to support the rescue efforts.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry said that more than 400 cubic meters of structures have been cleared by rescuers.
