Firefighters remove 10ft python from family's bedroom
Firefighters removed a massive python that entered a family's bedroom in the Philippines.
Footage shows officers dragging down the gargantuan serpent using snake tongs as it lay next to a pile of pillows and stuffed toys at the house in Tagbilaran City, Bohol province, on March 21.
Rescuers wrangled the beast into a sack to later release into the wild. They said it weighed 10 kilogrammes and was more than 10 feet long.
FO1 Anthony Glenn Tagaan of the Tagbilaran City Fire Department said: 'The family noticed that their jalousie window was broken. When they looked around the room, they found the python right above their bed.'
The python was handed over to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
