A woman rescued a bird stranded in a tropical rainstorm.

The resident Ribbin Jirawan saw the myna unable to fly with its wings wet from the heavy rain so she walked under heavy rain to save it in Bangkok, Thailand on September 21.

Footage shows Ribbin wearing a pink raincoat braving the bad weather and picking up the black feathered animal from the roadside.

She returned to her nearby property with the bird and placed it in a box lined with tissue to keep it dry.

Ribbin said: ‘At first, I thought it was playing in the water, but it had been there for a while.

‘To ensure it wasn't injured, I put on my coat and took it. The rain was heavy, and the wind was strong.'

She wiped the myna's feathers and let it dry before it flew away when the weather was better.

She added: ‘When the bird was dry, it left on its own. It wasn't hurt.'
