Hundreds of devotees congregated for the yearly Kundam festivities held at Bannari Amman Temple near Sathyamangalam in Erode district on Monday. Several devotees took to crossing the fiery embers in the festival
Devotees Walk On Bed Of Embers To perform File Walk In TN's Bannari Amman Temple.In the video, a man was seen stumbling and falling while walking on the embers. Swiftly, the police and medical personnel rushed to his aid, evacuating him to an ambulance for immediate treatment. Notably, both women and men devotees participated in walking across the embers during the event.
The primary deity worshipped is Goddess Bannari, revered as the goddess of rain and an incarnation of Goddess Shakti. Goddess Bannari holds immense significance in Tamil and Kannada folklore with Mariamman temples dedicated to the goddess' presence in almost every village across Kongu region of Tamil Nadu.


The Kundam Festival takes place during Tamil month of Panguni, falling between March and April. During this time, hundreds of thousands of devotees flock to the temple from various directions. Devotees from Karnataka also throng during the festivities.

Erode district also observes a local holiday to mark this auspicious occasion
