UDOT Cottonwood Canyons Reveals Harrowing Road Conditions in Salt Lake County, USA
This footage was filmed and produced 25 March 2024.
In response to the dynamic weather conditions sweeping through the region, UDOT Cottonwood Canyons provided a comprehensive video update on the current state of State Route 190 (SR190) and State Route 210 (SR210) on March 25th.
According to the latest report, SR190 exhibits varying conditions along its stretch. In the lower and middle sections, the road surface is described as wet, while the upper region experiences slush and snow accumulation. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, especially in steep areas and corners leading to Brighton Resort and Solitude Mountain. Slush becomes prevalent around Storm Mountain (Mile Post 4), transitioning to snow around Butler (Mile Post 9.5). UDOT crews are actively engaged in clearing shoulders and parking areas, urging drivers to remain vigilant and give them ample space to work safely.
Meanwhile, SR210 presents a similar pattern, with slush and snow prevailing in the lower and middle portions, escalating to solely snow in the upper reaches. Drivers are alerted to the presence of ice in steep segments and corners as they navigate towards Alta Central, Alta Alerts, and Snowbird Alerts. The onset of road snow is noted around Lisa Falls (Mile Post 6), with the heaviest accumulation occurring in the middle sections. UDOT maintenance crews are deployed along the route, and motorists are urged to afford them the necessary space to carry out their operations effectively.
