The Flooded Monocacy River in Frederick, Maryland
Video of the overflowing Monocacy River as viewed from Route 355 in Frederick, Maryland on February 25, 2016. The melting snow from the Blizzard of 2016 combined with the rain from the severe storms on February 24 has caused a dramatic rise in the water level.

..Flood Warning extended until late tonight...
The Flood Warning continues for
The Monocacy River near Frederick.
* Until late tonight.
* At 11 AM Thursday the stage was 16.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11 AM Thursday was 16.2 feet.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Much of Pinecliff Park and Rivermist Park
in Frederick are flooded. Buckeystown Community Park is also
flooded with water approaching the parking lot. Waters are also
approaching the Frederick city wastewater treatment plant and the Ballenger Creek wastewater treatment plant. Significant backwater flooding is occurring. Several roads will be closed along the river and adjoining creeks.
