STORYLINE:
The Tunisian Ministry of Equipment and Housing signed a contract with China's Sichuan Road and Bridge Group (SRBG) for the construction of the country's longest bridge on Tuesday.
According to Tunisian Minister of Equipment and Housing Sarra Zaafrani Zanzri, the over 2-kilometer-long new bridge to be built in Tunisia's northern province of Bizerte will greatly alleviate traffic congestion in Bizerte, and promote local business and trade.
For his part, the Chairman of SRBG Zhang Hangchuan said that SRBG will give full play to the professional advantages of the company, strictly abide by the terms of the project contract and execute the contract conscientiously.
According to SRBG, the new bridge will be built on the Bizerte Canal with a total length of 2,070 meters, and the maximum span of its main bridge is nearly 300 meters.
