The sky in northern Chinese city turned orange as a ferocious sandstorm engulfed it.

The video was filmed in Sonid Right Banner in Inner Mongolia on March 27.

A fierce sandstorm swept through the central and eastern regions of Inner Mongolia, blanketing several areas in a thick haze of yellow dust. Parts of Xilin Gol League experienced severe sandstorms.

By 11:00 a.m. on March 27, Sonid Right Banner was battered by strong winds and intense sandstorms. At 11:40 a.m., wind speeds peaked at 63.4mph, with visibility plummeting to a mere 88 metres.

The Meteorological Bureau of Sonid Right Banner issued a red sandstorm warning at 11:51 a.m., launching comprehensive alert measures via phone calls, WeChat notifications, and other channels. The local government promptly enforced emergency measures including suspending work, classes, production, and transportation.

The sandstorm is expected to persist over the next two days in Inner Mongolia, urging the public to take precautionary measures against the onslaught of wind and sand.
