Shocking CCTV footage shows three separate incidents of reckless behaviour at level crossings in the West Midlands regions of the UK.

In the first incident on March 18, a van brazenly disregarded signals and lowered barriers at Blakedown level crossing, causing significant damage by tearing down the barrier and dragging it across the crossing.

Less than a week earlier, on March 13, at Hartlebury level crossing, also a village in Worcestershire, a pedestrian forced their way through closed barriers, risking their own safety and potentially endangering others.

The video's third clip, dated March 4, captured a car ignoring signals and dangerously manoeuvring around closing barriers at Langley Green level crossing in the West Midlands.

According to reports, there have been a staggering 60 cases of misuse at level crossings in the Midlands region since January 2024 alone. Among these, four were classified as 'near misses' involving pedestrians.

Over the past year, the issue of level crossing misuse has persisted, with 225 reported cases and 27 classified as 'near misses.'
