A stray dog sparked chaos when it ran through a cricket stadium and across the pitch during a match in India.

The pooch emerged from the stand during an IPL game between the Gujarat Titans and the Mumbai Indians on March 24.

Footage captured by spectators shows the hound evading several security guards and safety stewards before scampering onto the pitch just as Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya was about to bowl.

Amid thunderous cheers from the crowd, the mutt continued its hilarious rampage across the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Despite the efforts to chase the dog away, it managed to navigate through the field before reaching the boundary. Some ground staff resorted to kicking the dog, while others tried to capture it.

In the footage, a female police officer can be seen using her leg to prevent the dog from crossing the digital boundary.

The dog was eventually caught and moved onto the road outside.

While the Gujarat Titans overcame the doggy disruption and emerged victorious with a remarkable comeback, securing a narrow six-run victory.
