This elementary school teacher has introduced a fun way to help young pupils beat boredom by doing a choreographed dance amid a long day of sitting at their desks.

Remarkable phone footage shows the young schoolkids in their red uniform chanting while performing the dance that is something like a film battle scene.

Led by their Chinese literature teacher, whose identity was not revealed, the youngsters followed every movement perfectly synchronised.

Accompanied by the sound of battle music playing in the background, the pupils slammed their desks with their fists as if banging drums of war.

The teacher at the school in Huaihua, in Hunan, China, reportedly introduced the unique choreography almost a decade ago to liven up the children in between classes that demand them to sit at their desks all day.

He said: 'This desk dance was created for rainy days when inconvenient to go out, and also for exercising children's overall qualities.

'Perhaps you may not like it, but it cannot be denied that children need a comprehensive education.

'Learning is a form of education, and cultivating comprehensive abilities is also a form of education. A kind word can warm up three winters! Thank you.'

He added:'I started doing this desk dance in 2014, before Douyin existed at that time. I persist because I love it.'

The routine has reportedly become a favourite activity among pupils and their parents alike.
