This is the amusing moment a pet dog enjoys a lavish birthday party in the Philippines.

Kristal Tagle and her family celebrated their Aspin dog's fifth birthday in their home in Dasmarinas, Cavite, on January 5.

Footage shows the family singing 'Happy Birthday' to the hound, named Tisoy, who was wearing a red birthday outfit.

Tisoy then started barking to join them in the song.

The party was adorned with yellow and red balloons attached to the ceiling with sparkling thread.

They also served a whole roasted pig, a cake, and different types of pasta for the canine.

Pet owner Kristal said: 'Tisoy was given to us in 2019, during the pandemic. He is lovely and cute, always making us laugh and loved.'

A recent heartbreaking story of a Golden Retriever dog named Killua, who was brutally killed in the country, inspired her to share the video to show people who are afraid of dogs how lovely they are.

She added that they also wanted to protect them and to share that they too have a life and a heart more than we ever imagine.
