This is the moment police detained thieves for stealing hundreds of cans of baby formula worth over £5,500 ($7,000) - in just 20 minutes.

Officers from the Sherwood Police Department in Oregon, USA, arrested three people who were part of an organized theft ring in the Portland Metro Area.

A shocking video from March 22 shows officers emptying the secret compartment in one of the thieves' skirts.

The video also shows a car boot, several shopping carts and a pushchair full to the brim of the stolen goods.

The Sherwood Police Department said in a statement: "The video starts with the $1,200 theft from Walmart but also shows the $5,000 in theft from Target just before. "

"It all happened in about 20 minutes and over $7,000 in stolen baby formula was recovered."

Police managed to recover all of the goods which were then returned to the Walmart and Target stores to be placed back on shelves for sale.
