This incredible clip shows Russian units taking down a Ukrainian 'Baba Yaga' drone.

The attack was allegedly carried out by soldiers from Russia's Southern Military District in the area of Bakhmut, located in Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast on March 26.

Russia's Ministry of Defence explained how one of their reconnaissance drones discovered the Ukrainian hexacopter.

The statement said: 'This type of UAV is dangerous because it can carry up to 60 kilogrammes [132 lbs] of bomb payload and, combined with its good manoeuvrability, can pose a significant threat to personnel and lightly armoured vehicles.

'After assessing the situation, the decision was made by the Russian reconnaissance drone operator to ram the Ukrainian attack copter.

'In this case, the operator approached from above the Ukrainian drone and blocked its rotors, causing the destruction and collapse of the enemy UAV.

'To prevent the loss of small quadcopters during the collision with the 'Baba Yaga' type UAV, which has powerful rotors, the crews are upgrading the launch 'horns' of the drones with steel pipes, allowing them to destroy the rotors of the enemy UAV without damaging their own drone.'
