Artillery Warehouse in West Java, Indonesia, Caught on Fire, Residents Startled by Repeated Explosions

Ciangsana area in Bogor, West Java, was shaken by a massive fire at an Artillery Warehouse on Saturday (30/3/2024) night. The incident was marked not only by raging flames but also by echoing explosions that startled nearby residents.

One of the residents of Kota Wisata housing complex, Benjamin, witnessed that the explosions could be heard up to a radius of two kilometers from the location of the incident. "The explosions could be heard several times, my house is within a two-kilometer radius from the incident," said Benjamin.

According to Benjamin, the first explosion was heard shortly after the Maghrib call to prayer and continued afterward. "Before 18:30 (the explosions were heard), not long after breaking the fast," he added.

As of the time this news is broadcasted, the sound of explosions is still audible around the fire location, adding tension and concern for nearby residents. However, Benjamin also mentioned that there hasn't been any evacuation advisory issued. "Not yet, there hasn't been any evacuation advisory here," he concluded.

Currently, authorities are handling the fire incident and investigating the exact cause and impact of this event. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow instructions from the authorities on duty.
