SOUNDBITE (English): STUART RUSSELL, Professor of electrical engineering and computer sciences at the University of California at Berkeley
"As for all countries, people will use AI to increase the rate of innovation in science, in the arts, in music, literature, or all these areas. I think we'll see the emergence of new kinds of art form that AI can facilitate. The potential is enormous in all areas. (In China,) there're the tech giants, Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent. And they've been making a lot of progress, but then there are lots of specialist companies like the education companies which are in many ways, I think they're doing more in education in China than they are in Western countries. And there're also a lot of very smart people in the universities. I think China's role is essential as one of the most important centers for AI research and development. So I think the prospects for Chinese AI are very bright."
