A massive blaze engulfed the Pentecostal Determine Church of God on Cleveland's east side, leaving the neighborhood in mourning despite no reported injuries. The fire, which broke out around 7 a.m. in the 9100 block of Miles Park, drew a swift response from Cleveland Fire officials who arrived to find flames raging from the top of the church.

Adjacent properties also suffered minor damages, with a house on the east side of the church bearing the brunt of the fire's impact. Once extinguished, the aftermath revealed a scene of devastation, with the church's roof collapsed, debris strewn about, and walls riddled with holes.

The Pentecostal Determine Church of God, built in 1872 and previously enduring a fire in 1925, held sentimental value for many in the community. John Wrights, a former congregant, reminisced about his experiences in the church, recalling fond memories of weddings and Easter services.

The city is currently collaborating with demolition contractors and the fire department to assess the damage and determine the next steps. While demolition seems inevitable, sentiments of loss and nostalgia linger among those who cherished the historic church.
