China’s Maybach crash: driver apprehended after multiple casualties
On March 31st, a Maybach in Chengdu, Sichuan, lost control and collided with multiple people, sparking concern. The driver of the vehicle has been apprehended by the police.
Footage from eyewitnesses' dashcams captured the Maybach speeding towards a pedestrian crossing, knocking down several people. Afterwards, citizens also filmed the driver convulsing in the car, exhibiting peculiar movements.
According to the Chengdu Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Bureau, at around 7:33 pm on March 31st, a traffic accident occurred on the road in front of No. 15, Section 2, South Second Ring Road in Wuhou District, Chengdu. A small car collided with electric bicycles and bicycles. The police promptly responded and assisted in transporting the injured to receive medical treatment. Currently, the accident has resulted in 2 deaths and 2 injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Zhang (male, 37 years old), has been apprehended by the police, and the public security authorities are conducting investigations in accordance with the law.
