Stranded Hikers Airborne to Safety in Sassari, Italy

In a dramatic rescue operation in the rugged terrain of Sassari, two hikers were saved on March 31st afternoon by the VF 144 Drago. The hikers, who had lost their way during an excursion, activated emergency services after losing the return trail.
The VF 144 Drago crew swiftly located the stranded hikers near Argentiera. After hoisting them aboard, the crew airlifted them to a designated landing site, where they were handed over to the firefighting team from the Alghero detachment.
Both individuals, a man and a woman, were reported to be in good health despite their ordeal.
