An unprovoked stone attack terrified a father and his sons during their kayak trip at a scenic spot in eastern China.

Shocking video filmed in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, on March 30, shows a man named Li on the shore throwing stones at a father and his two sons kayaking on the waters.

Despite the father's desperate pleas for the person to cease, the relentless stoning continued, reducing both of his sons to tears.

According to reports, the father was leisurely kayaking with his sons at the Moon Bay Scenic Area. Opting for a serene day out at this no-fee, self-drive tourist spot, boasting public waterways, the tranquillity was shattered by an unprovoked assault from the shore.

Without warning or any prior communication, a group of four individuals began hurling goose egg-sized stones at the family's kayak. A particularly large stone, deflected by the father's foot and narrowly missing his son's head by less than a metre, marked a terrifying escalation of the attack.

Taking swift action, the father reported the incident to the authorities. He later discovered that three of the assailants were affiliated with a local kayaking company and one was a riverway administrator.

The father suspects the attack was motivated by his decision to use his own kayak without the kayaking company's permission, thereby bypassing their services and fees.

Responding to the incident, the local police station, on the evening of March 31st, stated that a comprehensive investigation was underway to fully understand the situation and proceed in accordance with the law.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
