This footage was filmed and produced 1 April 2024.

Storyline:
Israel's army announced on Monday it had withdrawn its forces from the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza after a two-week-long raid, which has resulted in extensive destruction and permanent closure of the hospital.
The medical complex, located in the hunger-stricken northern Gaza, became a refuge for thousands of patients and displaced Palestinians, and was targeted by Israeli tanks and airstrikes. It was the second major Israeli raid on the hospital since the beginning of Israel's almost six-month-long onslaught in Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces released a statement saying that during the raid, the troops killed militants "in close-quarters encounters, located numerous weapons and intelligence documents throughout the hospital".
The buildings for reception, emergency, nephrology, and maternity in the hospital, and other medical facilities have all been destroyed in the raid, which also affected buildings around the hospital.
After the withdrawal of Israeli troops, some professional teams tried to search for more bodies of the deceased from the rubble.
The Hamas-run media office on Monday issued a statement condemning the military operation of the Israeli army at the Al-Shifa Hospital.
The statement alleged that the Israeli army intentionally destroyed and set fire to all the buildings of the hospital, and killed and arrested a large number of Palestinians within and near the hospital.
Hamas stated that the Israeli army is carrying out "genocide" against the Palestinians and called upon countries worldwide and international organizations to condemn the crime which is a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Geneva Convention. It also urged immediate intervention to restore the operation of the Al-Shifa Hospital.
Hamas also appealed for more field hospitals, medical teams, and healthcare professionals to enter the Gaza Strip in order to save the lives of thousands of patients.

2. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Marwan Abu Sada, head of surgery, Al Shifa Hospital:
"This morning, the Israeli troops withdrew from the Al-Shifa Hospital. I could not hold back my tears upon witnessing the damage here. I did not shed tears for my own home being damaged, but for the destruction of the hospital, and for all the medical staff and the wounded people in Gaza. As a large medical complex, the Al-Shifa Hospital used to have 750 beds. No other medical institutions in Gaza have such a large scale. It also had 26 operating rooms and about 32 intensive care units. However, all of them had been destroyed beyond repair. The Al-Shifa Hospital has to be closed permanently."
