Six people were injured when a Mercedes driven by a lawyer crashed into a cafe in India.

CCTV shows how locals were eating lunch outside the streetside restaurant when the white car hurtled towards them in Civil Lines, Delhi, on March 31.

The two cafe staff and four customers all suffered injuries as a result of the SUV crashing into the popular Kachori outlet

Security footage captured a middle-aged couple emerging from the crashed car amid the chaos. A woman who appeared to have suffered a serious leg injury received assistance from bystanders.


The Civil Lines Police Station said impact of the crash caused significant damage to the eatery, overturning food tables and causing patrons to fall to the ground.

Officers have initiated legal proceedings against the driver of the vehicle, identified as Noidalawyer Parag Maini, 36, from Delhi.

According to the police report, Maini was driving the vehicle with his wife at the time of the collision. Both emerged unscathed.

Police said that initial investigations showed that Maini was not under the influence of alcohol.
