Controversial plans have been announced by Kent County Council, UK to use Ocean Heights care home to house unaccompanied asylum seeking children.

Ocean Heights care home in Minster on Sea fronts one of the Isle of Sheppey's most popular beaches and tourist destinations.

The currently unused care home is adjacent to the Little Oyster care home on the Minster Leas.

Sittingbourne & Sheppey MP Gordon Henderson said he is "extremely angry" to learn of the proposals in a published statement on Facebook.

Footage shows the Ocean Heights facility and general views of the area this morning (April 2).
