Finland's Kalle Rovanpera (Toyota) won Sunday's Kenya Rally, the third round of the WRC World Championship, easily outclassing his rivals on the sometimes muddy, sometimes dusty African tracks.
The two-time world champion dominated what is widely regarded as the toughest event in the championship, finishing almost 1'38" ahead of Japan's Takamoto Tatsuta, also driving a Toyota. It was his 12th WRC victory.
Third place went to Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux (M-Sport/Ford), who benefited from the Hyundai's problems. Belgian Thierry Neuville could only finish fifth after suffering fuel pump problems, while Finland's Esapekka Lappi, winner of the previous Rally Sweden, and Estonia's Ott Tanak were forced to retire on Friday.
