STORYLINE:   

The China-Africa Internet Development and Cooperation Forum is being held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province. 

The forum has attracted about 400 delegates from China, 20 African countries, and other organizations and institutes.

"My expectation (to join this forum) is to basically look for opportunities of collaboration between South Africa and China in the digital infrastructure, economy, and industries, and more specifically, electrical equipment for broadband, cybersecurity, and internet security. That is our main focus and also in artificial intelligence what can we collaborate, what can we learn from China. They are very experienced in those technologies."

"This is a good moment for us to be able to discuss the future of China-Africa cooperation in the digital space. So in terms of digital economy, China-Africa cooperation has potential to really transform the continent, and be aligned with some of the development agenda. The digital economy and digital connectivity, this is very key part of that, so we are very looking forward for a stronger China-Africa partnership that will be able to build this system with Africa taking lessons from China."
