A resident in Compton, California, was left in awe as they spotted a mysterious object soaring through the night sky on April 2.

They told Newsflare: "We are driving in Compton at 1:43 in the morning, to get some gas. I started to look up at the sky, and I saw flashing lights, I looked much closer thinking a plane or something of the sort was falling from the sky, until I knew what it was.

"It looked like a meteor shower, I was shaken by the sight. I had to pull out my phone and start recording, I couldn't believe what was going on."

Locals have speculated about the objects being a meteor shower or a SpaceX rocket.
