The world's former tallest building is seen during an earthquake that shook Taiwan this morning.

The 508-metre-high Taipei 101 building - fitted with the world's largest damper to withstand quakes - felt the force of the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck off the east coast of the country speaking tsunami warnings.

Taiwan's Central Weather Administration issued a tsunami warning. The organisation said the tidal wave would impact the northern coastal area and it warned residents to evacuate to higher ground.
