Seven deaths and hundreds of injuries as earthquake hits Taiwan

At 7:58 a.m. on April 3rd, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Hualien County, Taiwan, with multiple surveillance cameras capturing the moment of the earthquake. Items inside rooms shook violently and toppled over. According to the Taiwan Fire Department, as of 2 p.m., there have been 7 fatalities, 711 injuries, and 77 people trapped. All 77 trapped individuals are concentrated in Hualien County. Search and rescue teams from all across Taiwan have been dispatched to Hualien for rescue efforts.
