On March 25, 2024, a container ship flying the flag of Liberia ran aground in the Gulf of Finland near Kronstadt, Russia as reported by the press service of the transport department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Northwestern Federal District. The St. Petersburg department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received information about the foreign vessel's grounding within the territory of the seaport "Big Port of St. Petersburg." Transport police highlighted that the ship became stranded between buoys on the southern edge of the Kronstadt ship fairway near the port.
