Terrifying moment dust storm engulfs highway as mountain collapses in deadly Taiwan earthquake
A dust storm engulfed a highway as a mountain collapses in a deadly 7.3-magnitude Taiwan earthquake.
The terrifying moment was filmed in Hualien County in Taiwan on April 3.
Mr. Wang Yin Qing, who was driving along the highway in the Chongde area at the time, captured the horrifying moment on his dashcam when the earthquake triggered a massive landslide, sending a giant cloud of dust into the air and gradually swallowing the road ahead.
Pedestrians were seen fleeing in panic as the landscape around them crumbled.
According to the Taiwan Fire Department, by 6:00 PM on the same day, the offshore earthquake had resulted in 9 fatalities, 934 injuries, and 56 people trapped, with all incidents of death and entrapment occurring within Hualien County.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
