On April 3, a dramatic scene captured by a car's dashboard camera unfolded as a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Hualien County, Taiwan. Driving along the Su-Hua Highway, the earthquake struck suddenly, causing the earth to shake and rocks to tumble down from the mountainside. Two vehicles immediately halted their journey and began reversing to safety as boulders rolled dangerously close.

Unfortunately, the car in front was struck by a large rock at its rear end, while the car behind swiftly reversed, narrowly avoiding further falling debris. There’s no injury reported.

According to the statistics of the Taiwan fire department, the earthquake has caused 9 deaths, 821 injuries and 127 people trapped, and the deaths and trapped to be rescued occurred in Hualien.
