Just two days earlier, in the early hours of March 31st, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, experienced severe weather with strong winds, thunder, and heavy rainfall.

On April 3rd, the Jiangxi Provincial Emergency Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters revealed that the wind and hail disasters since March 31st have affected 9 cities and 54 counties, with 93,000 people affected. Seven people have died as a result of the disaster, 552 people have been evacuated for emergency shelter, and 263 people have been relocated urgently.
