A group of residents teamed up to lift a car up to rescue a scooter rider trapped underneath in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in Jiangyou City in Sichuan Province on April 2, shows a car driver, struck by a sudden bout of low blood sugar, veering off course and crashing onto a safety island, hitting an electric scooter in the process.

The collision was severe enough to drag the scooter and its rider underneath the vehicle, sparking an immediate crisis.

Witnessing the accident, quick-thinking passersby didn't hesitate. In a show of solidarity and courage, people from all directions descended upon the scene, ready to help. Together, they formed a spontaneous rescue team, racing against time to lift the car and free the trapped rider.

The collective effort paid off quickly as the rider was successfully extracted from beneath the car. In a fortunate twist, despite the potentially fatal circumstances, the electric scooter rider sustained only minor injuries and was reported to be out of immediate danger.
