In a swift and daring rescue operation, the Vigili del Fuoco, or Italian Firefighters, sprang into action to save two distressed canoeists who found themselves in peril on the Ticino River near the municipality of Vizzola (VA) on Friday, April 5, 2024.

The dramatic rescue unfolded as the canoeists capsized, becoming ensnared in the dense vegetation lining the riverbank. With time ticking away, the courageous responders, aided by a skilled crew aboard the AW139 helicopter known as "Drago 150," swiftly descended upon the scene.

Utilizing their expertise and specialized equipment, including expert divers, the rescue team freed the stranded individuals from their precarious predicament, whisking them away to safety aboard the aircraft.
