STANDUP (English): SANAA KAMAL, Xinhua reporter
"Half of a year has passed here in the besieged coastal enclave while more than 2.3 million Palestinians have been living under one of the most violent Israeli wars that attacked them since the Palestinian Islamic Hamas movement took over the power here in the Gaza Strip.
Until now, more than 33,000 Palestinian people were killed by the ongoing Israeli airstrikes. Most of them were children and women, according to official data issued by the Palestinian health ministry here in Gaza.
Meanwhile, more than 80 percent of the Palestinian facilities and buildings in the whole coastal enclave were completely or partially destroyed by the Israeli army.
Locals here all the time ask when the war will end. In addition, they call on the international community, Arab countries as well as European countries to pressure Israel to put an end to its war as soon as possible, in addition, to allow them to return to their houses in the northern part and Gaza City even if they will establish their tents over their ruins."

SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): SAMIHA, Gaza resident
"We have not seen such a war in our life. We lost our hope and power. I lost my husband and sons in this war. They are no longer with me."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): MOHAMMED, Gaza resident
"Life is very difficult here and the people do not have money to buy what they need. In addition, they do not have any income sources."

In a recent development, Hamas stated on Saturday that a delegation of its leaders would visit Egypt on Sunday to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza and a potential hostage-prisoner swap with Israel.
