A cheating Indian wife climbed a 30ft electric pole after her husband discovered her seven-year affair.

Unfaithful mother-of-three Suman Devi, 34, had been hiding her relationship with a man from a neighbouring village, but was busted by her husband Ram Govid, 35, in Uttar Pradesh, India, on April 3.

Bizarrely, the shameless woman allegedly demanded that her lover live in the same household as the family.

When Ram refused, she scaled the 30ft electric pole in Gorakhpur District and grabbed onto a high-tension wire threatening to commit suicide.

Concerned bystanders notified local authorities and the power supply was cut off to prevent Suman from being electrocuted.

Police then climbed the post and tied up Suman - seen wearing a red dress - and lowered her to safety. They took her, her husband, and her lover to the station for questioning.

Speaking to local media, the Pipraich Police Station House Officer said: 'A police team reached the spot after receiving information about a woman who had climbed on an electric pole. Prima Facie, it looks like a matter of domestic dispute.

'We persuaded the woman to step down with the help of the local electricity department. The woman was saved and was sent back home with her husband. We have not received any complaints till now.'
