Initial investigations by the police have unveiled that the 51-year-old bus driver suffered a sudden cardiac discomfort while navigating the vehicle, leading to a loss of consciousness and the subsequent calamity.

In the moments leading to the crash, unsuspecting pedestrians were caught in the path of the uncontrollable bus, resulting in fatalities and numerous injuries.

The Nanchang Public Security Bureau's Traffic Management Bureau has since reported that the driver is now under police custody, as efforts to thoroughly investigate the specifics of the accident continue.
