Students clambered through windows to escape a tutoring centre that caught fire in eastern China.

The terrifying video was filmed in Feidong County in Anhui Province on April 7.

The blaze was reported at approximately 18:09 in a residential building, where a fire broke out in a storeroom located in the hallway on the ground floor. Authorities, including fire services, police, and emergency medical teams, were alerted by the public and rushed to the scene, managing to swiftly extinguish the raging flames.

The fire, initially sparked by miscellaneous items stored in the hallway, led to tragic consequences. One person was pronounced dead, and 11 others suffered injuries in the chaos that ensued.

The injured individuals are currently receiving medical attention in hospital, where they remain under observation and treatment. Fortunately, there are no reports of life-threatening conditions among the survivors at this time.

The cause of the fire is under rigorous investigation. In the meantime, the owner of the building and individuals deemed responsible have been detained by the police.
