Police said scooter rider Subash Chander was crushed to death by the tanker.
Eight more people were injured, including one severely wounded individual who was rushed to the Regional Hospital, Una for treatment.
Fifteen shops were also damaged.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also confirmed the details of the incident and expressed his sympathies to those impacted.
