Grace Teka is a general rehabilitation physiotherapist at Lata Hospital in Solomon Islands. Recently, she has finished acupuncture treatment training offered by the Chinese medical team to the Pacific island country.

"I had my treatment for my bilateral knees and lower back. After I got five treatments, I recovered. I see the impact of the treatment so I am more interested (in it). I want to learn the skills to do acupuncture."

Later, Teka applied for a six-week study opportunity in an acupuncture clinic run by the Chinese medical team.

Teka has mastered cupping therapy and moxibustion therapy skillfully, and can carry out simple treatment with the guidance and assistance of Chinese doctors.

Teka said that she will continue to learn acupuncture therapy, hoping she can independently carry out acupuncture therapy in her hometown in the future and promote this Chinese therapy in Solomon Islands.

"When I go back to Lata (Hospital), I will do the cupping technique for my patients at Lata Hospital. So with that, I want to say thank you to the Chinese medical team for the acupuncture treatment that you introduced in the National Referral Hospital. I think a lot of patients will agree with me. Thank you!"
