STORYLINE:
Afghan authorities distributed China-donated humanitarian aid to 56 families in the northern Jawzjan province, Mawlawi Sirajuddin Siraji, provincial director for natural disaster management and humanitarian affairs, said Saturday.
"We distributed China-donated humanitarian assistance to 56 families who were affected by recent floods and snowfall," Siraji said.
The aid packages, including wheat, beans, blankets and clothes, were distributed by authorities in the provincial capital of Shiberghan on Saturday afternoon, the official added.

"In such a critical situation, the aid is very important for us. My house got damaged and we don't have enough food. We do thank China for helping us."
China has supported Afghanistan over the past years with COVID-19 vaccines, winter clothes, tents and foodstuff, which had been distributed among poor and flood-affected families in the war-torn country.
