Under the dim spotlights, a locomotive clock made in 1900 is quietly displaying the vibrancy of its "new life" in the glass cover thanks to the joint restoration efforts from the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Palace Museum in Beijing.

"Clock restoration is a very professional job, and it needs long-term training. Only personnel with a mechanical background working along with masters can repair it."

Through close collaboration ties, Qi Haonan, a member of the clock restoration team from the Palace Museum, has helped their counterparts in Hong Kong to revive the relics.

The restoration of antique clocks not only needs to clean dust but also master professional machinery maintenance technology.
