A cat owner saved eight newborn kittens from a flooded drainpipe following a surprise birth by his cat in southern China.

The video was filmed in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on 5 April.

The owner discovered his cat had given birth to kittens in a drainpipe. Unfortunately, a flood occurred before the mother cat could move her babies out. The owner mimicked a cat's purring at the entrance to the pipe, urging the mother cat to bring out the kittens one by one.

Instead of choosing the two spots the owner had prepared for the cat to give birth, she opted for the sewer pipe, where she felt safe. The owner promptly dried and warmed the eight newborn kittens and provided a heating device in their cage.

In a heart warming video filmed on April 5, 2024 in Guangxi, a filmer found that a mother cat gave birth to kittens in a drainpipe.
