This heartwarming moment a heroic passerby rescued a pigeon stranded in a canal.

Pirawat Cheewawat and his friends were strolling in the neighbourhood when they spotted the bird struggling in the dirty water in the canal in Phatthalung, Thailand, on February 21.

Footage captured by Bright shows Pirawat and one of his friends using a tree branch to retrieve the bird. It then perched on top of Pirawat's shoe, and he carefully manoeuvred his leg to lift the animal towards his hands.

He gently grabbed the feathered creature and carried it away from the canal.

They tend for the pigeon and released it afterwards.

Bright said: 'The baby bird fell into the water, and we immediately found something to rescue it. It didn't have any injuries, and we released it after checking if it was okay.'
