A resident captured the moment before a thunderstorm hit her street in China.

Footage shows the curtain of heavy rain sweeping in from the mountains before shrouding buildings in a gray haze in Quzhou City, Zhejiang, on March 25.

Strong winds soon blew into the area, shocking onlookers.

The filmer said: 'After the rain moved in, it quickly into a torrential downpour. Shortly after, the weather took a dramatic turn when hailstones began pelting down from the sky.'

The local meteorological department said wind speeds in Zhejiang reached up to 58 miles per hour.

Hail was also reported to have pummeled parts of Yiwu City, causing damage to numerous cars.
