Hippo floats in pool to cool off in fresh water
Footage shows a hippo floating perfectly still while it cooled off in a pond.
The hippo, named Xiangxiang, submerged its entire body in the newly cleaned pool in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, on March 26.
Footage shows the animal lying on its side underwater. It remained in this position for three minutes after catching its breath again.
A zookeeper said: 'The hippo likes to float in the water after the pool is cleaned and the water is changed. Usually, after cleaning both sides of the pool in the morning, the hippos will start filling it up.'
