A strong wind blew over tents as a storm battered roadside shops in Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the gusts pounding on the marquees as panicked vendors rushed to salvage them in Kanchanaburi, Thailand on April 10.

While the locals were pulling their racks and products for sale to safety, the wind toppled over one of the large tents, leaving it dismantled.

One of the shop owners Wanfa said: 'The storm came suddenly. It lasted for about 30 minutes before easing up.

'The tents in front of my shop were damaged, and some of the products outside were wet.'

During that period, the Meteorological Department issued a weather warning for April 9 to 11, stating that Upper Thailand would experience summer storms.

Thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail, and lightning strikes were expected in the Northeast on April 9 and 10 before spreading to the rest of the region, including Kanchanaburi.
