Demand for limited-edition 'Labubu' keychains soared as Lisa of the dancing group Blackpink posed with the toy.

Pop Mart, which is listed in Hong Kong, announced it is opening limited sales of The Monsters Exciting Macaron collection, including the adorable demon Labubu, at its Central World, Terminal 21 Asoke and Central Lat Phrao branches in Bangkok following the K-pop star's endorsement.

Each blind box costs 550 baht (12 GBP), with a set of six sold for 3,300 baht (72 GBP). However, buyers must first pre-register and are only allowed a 30-minute in-store shopping time for their designated slot.

The limited sale will run from April 12 to 16.

Collectors who failed to get their hands on bunny-like demon, which is based off of Nordic fairytales, can buy from the secondhand market, though prices are much higher.

The keychains come in seven colours and reportedly fetch around 1,500 baht (around 33 GBP) per box. The most prized variant, the 'Chestnut Cocoa Labubu', is said to sell for up to 9,000 baht (196 GBP) due to its rarity.

Labubu is part of The Monsters universe created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung in 2015. The character, which looks like a rabbit with a mischievous grin showing its jagged teeth, is the most popular in the series.

Pop Mart from China gained popularity for selling 'designer' collectible toys that are sold in mystery 'blind boxes' that conceal the figures inside.
